our choirs

Center Hill Middle School Choirs began in 2009 with one choir of 35 students.  Quickly, it grew to three choirs of over 120 students in just three years.  CHMS added a fourth choir in 2016 to better accommodate our male singers and added a fifth choir in 2018 to allow our youngest male singers to perform in their own choir.

Each choir performs three or more concerts a year.  Students at every level audition and consistently qualify for the Mississippi All-State Honor Choirs.  Our advanced girls choir, the Elite Choir, was also awarded the Bluff City Choral Festival's Grand Champion award in 2019.  CHMS collaborates with both feeder schools and Center Hill High School to ensure that students are successful at every level.

our director

A Desoto County native, Brooke Davis graduated from the University of Mississippi where she received both a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Music Education degree.  Mrs. Davis was also awarded the John Gould Gardner Scholarship and was named the University of Mississippi Choral Department's Outstanding Undergraduate Vocal Music Education Student of the Year. Mrs. Davis created the choir program at Center Hill Middle School when the school opened in 2009. Under her direction, the department grew from one choir of 35 students in 2009 to five separate choirs of 150+ students.  In addition to directing the choirs, she served as the District II Choirs chairperson, clinician and guest conductor for the 2017 Mississippi Children's Choral Festival, and is an active adjudicator for the state of Mississippi.  Mrs. Davis also recently directed the 2025 Junior High Choirs for Desoto County's only choir camp, Camp CoroRio. She is also a lifelong singer herself and performs regularly with the Mississippi River Chorale. Mrs. Davis' professional affiliations include the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (NAFME), and Sigma Alpha Iota. She resides in Hernando, MS with her husband and two year old daughter.
